Do you use Google Plus for your network marketing business? Should you? This is not a straight forward question since it really depends on what your goals are as well as what you want to accomplish with your network marketing business. That said, here are a few guidelines to follow to help you decide whether or not using Google Plus for your network marketing business is a good idea.

1. What is your product line? If you are in a technology company then using Google Plus is a must. Google Plus has a large technology related audience.

2. Are you working on building a local team or audience? This will be nearly everyone although some people may not be.

3. Do you already have a presence on facebook and linkedin?

4. Are you already blogging?

If the answer to both of numbers 4 and 5 is yes, then you are ready to begin using Google Plus.

That said, Google Plus, unlike facebook and twitter, does not need to be used every day and most of you shouldn’t use it everyday. Instead you simply need to do a few key things.

1. Set up your Google Plus Profile and complete it thoroughly with your picture, tagline, website, and a few additional pictures and videos. I also recommend including a contact phone number, email address and keywords. If you have a physical location for your business then include that too.

2. Set up a Google Plus business page for your business.

Then update your Google Plus for business page at 1-2 times per week.

3. Consider using Google Plus Hangouts for connecting with a smaller group of people for team training, classes, presentations etc.

That is it. Google Plus does not need to be used daily, but because it is Google, I do recommend at least having a presence there.

Have you tried attraction marketing online only to find that it didn’t work? or maybe it didn’t work to the extent that you had hoped? This happens all the time and in the post I would like to share some thoughts on why that is.

1. Your expectations are too high. Many times as online network marketers we read, listen or watch trainings by people who seem to be making it big and who seem to be making tons of money so we assume that they actually are and that they are doing the same things that we are, yet, in reality they probably are doing things quite differently. For example, they are spending money on ads and not just trying to do everything for free, they are combining offline and online, they are much more experienced and so they get better results with fewer leads, etc.

2. Just because you develop a relationship with someone does not mean that they will join you. People are attracted to many different people and they often are given the opportunity to join businesses with lots of people as well and since they have a lot of choices, there is no way that they will choose you every time.

3. Creating content to attract your target market and then hoping for bites does not work. You have to actively promote and share your content and then be aggressive about doing what it takes to get the business. One example, is that I recently have began contacting many of my facebook friends and linkedin contacts asking them to set up a time to talk and get to know each other better. These are not sales pitches but rather a way for me to develop relationships with more people quicker and therefore increase my online results instead of waiting for people to contact me.

4. You have the wrong mindset. The reality is that you can do anything you want and you can take all the right actions for attraction marketing online but if you have the wrong mindset about wealth and money or about people or anything else your results will stink no matter what.

Thoughts? Questions?

Complete the form below and I will give you a free consultation to see if you are qualified to work with me.

Have you turned on your subscribe button on facebook? Regardless of whether you have or not, here are some reasons why the subscribe button on facebook is so powerful for network marketers and why you should consider turning it on.

1. It allows a lot more people to see your posts. Anyone can subscribe without being your friend. However, this does not mean they will see everything. In fact, they will only see the posts you have marked as public. So posts sent only to the members of a certain list or marked as private will not be visible.

2. Since you can only have 5,000 friends, using the subscribe button lets people who want to see your posts and connect with you but who are too late to be your friend because you have reached the limit or who do not fit your friends and family or ideal target market list still follow your posts.

3. You can let your fans see your posts on your profile without having to friend them. This makes it so that those fans who want to see your personal posts can do so.

4. The more people who see your posts the better and having the subscribe button activated increases your facebook visibility.

What other questions or comments do you have about the facebook subscribe button?

Building a targeted following on facebook is crucial if you want to make facebook work for your business. Just like with any other marketing method, it will not do you any good to have just anyone as your friends or fans.

You need to have people who are looking for the message that you are offering and for your products and services.

Here are the best ways to do this with facebook.

1.	Be crystal clear about who your target market is and well as who it is not.

2.	Create a fan page for your target market and keep it updated with content and helpful hints.

3.	Find 10-20 other fan pages that have a similar target market and actively comment on those pages.

4.	Add friends from that target market. Find them on fan pages, in groups and by using the facebook search.

5.	Make sure that at least 50% of your updates on your personal facebook profile are targeted to that market.

6.	Segment your friends by lists and have a list for your target market.

7.	Join groups that focus on that target market and actively participate.

8.	Create videos that solve the problems of that target market and share them on facebook.

9.	Create your own group for that target market and actively participate and share valuable information.

10.	Be consistent in marketing to your target market and modify as necessary.

Building relationships is at the heart of all business success on facebook. So how do you get the relationship started? Here are 10 great ways.

1.	Chat with the person using the facebook chat. Be real and sincere and focus on having a real conversation with the person not on trying to sell them something or trying to recruit them.

2.	Explore the person’s profile. Visit their blog and comment or visit their website and ask them a question about it.

3.	Read content that they post or watch their videos and comment on them or ask questions about them.

4.	Take notice of something that you share in common and let them know about it.

5.	Ask them a question and then pay attention to the answer.

6.	Comment on their status when appropriate and avoid making your comments an ad or a pitch.

7.	Look at their photos and comment on them.

8.	Find a piece of content, a website or a video that you think would benefit them and offer value to them and then share it with them. It can be your own or someone else’s just make sure that it is not your business website or something that could be perceived as a solicitation or a pitch.

9.	Call them. That’s right. Use the phone. If they have their phone number listed and you can think of something that you would like to chat with them about call them, or give them a call just to introduce yourself. You need to use your own judgment with this since you do not want to do this with just anyone but there are times when it is appropriate.

10.	Send them a thanks for connecting with me or nice to meet you message.

Marking your network marketing business on facebook can be a great way to generate leads and profits. However, there are certain things that work very well on facebook and other things that really do not work that well if at all. Here are ten things that you can do with facebook that work quite well and ten things that well, you really cannot do if you want to make facebook work for you as a marketing tool for your business.

What works well on facebook

1.	Facebook is a great place to connect with current customers and clients. You can look them up and add them as a friend as an additional means to stay connected.

2.	When you run an ad or get leads from people searching on online or through other methods you can take their information and then add them as friends. I have found this to be one of the best ways to get cold leads to respond and to open up to you.

3.	Putting up your facebook badge or an icon on your website or blog and then encouraging your visitors to connect with you. Most people will not do this but those who do make great potential partners or customers for you.

4.	Offering free information to encourage people to subscribe to your list where you can market to them over a period of time. This can be very profitable since once you get them on your list and you continue to offer them value many of them will eventually buy something or otherwise do some kind of business with you.

5.	Using it as a tool to connect with people with like minded interests. Facebook offers you an abundance of ways to do this such as with groups and fan pages.

6.	Doing research. You can find out all kinds of things about what people are interested in, what they are buying right now and how people respond to various marketing tactics.

7.	Connecting with people you meet offline at networking groups. This can be a real eye opener in helping you to get to know people better. It can also provide them with another way to get to know you and in many cases I’ve received offline appointments with people who were difficult to reach after connecting with the person on facebook.

8.	Getting the word out about a local and live event. Facebook can be a great place to get people to come and attend a meeting, party or get together that you are hosting.

9.	Creating buzz and awareness about a local group that you have started. For example, when I became the vice-president of a new women’s group that I helped start locally, we created a facebook fan page. About a month after this, one of the reporters from one of our major newspapers found us on facebook and did a story on us for the newspaper.

10.	Using paid advertising. While I have limited personal experience with this one, I have heard stories about how well this has worked for many businesses. If you have some budget money to spend, why not try it?

Ten things that really do not work on facebook

1.	Direct sales. While yes if you spam away you will probably get a sale or two but the relationships you will damage and the tarred image you will create are not worth it.

2.	Spending all day posting content, commenting, and chatting and wondering why you are only getting minimal results. You can do everything you need to do on facebook in under thirty minutes a day.

3.	Posting links to your free offer on all the profiles of everyone you connect with. This is just plain annoying and people hate it.

4.	Message spam. Yes a lot of people do this but it really is not okay. You only want to use the message feature to send personalized messages or event reminders. Even then you need to be careful that you are not annoying people or sending out messages that are too commercialized.

5.	Using the chat feature to immediately try and sell or to get attention and try to push a free offer right away.

6.	Including links in comments. For the most part this is just plain tacky. Unless the link answers a question asked by the person and even then if it is a link to your website it is much better to send the person a private message.

7.	Trying to hijack a conversation and making the person focus more on you and what you are trying to sell than on the original conversation.

8.	Befriending people only because you think you can sell to them or because you think that they fit who you are looking for so you hold a hidden agenda.

9.	Tagging famous people in pictures, notes and videos when the person is not actually present, and has nothing to do with what you have posted. This is just irritating and makes people annoyed. If you want their attention try posting a note or a blog post link to an honest review about their book or something else related to them.
