
Ebooks can be a great way to generate leads for your business. However, it can be more difficult than it seems. Here are 10 ways you can succeed at generating leads with ebooks.
1. Make your ebook interesting.
This is crucial. If your ebook is boring, you will generate leads however, your leads will not convert into customers and so your ebook will not do the job you created it to do.
2. Make it targeted to a very specific niche.
The more targeted your ebook, the more likely you are to generate leads from it. Make sure that the niche you choose is one that is proven to express high interest in your products or business opportunity.
3. Put multiple links to your website in your ebooks but avoid overdoing it. A good rule of thumb is no more than 3 links per page.
This can be a great way for people to browse your websites and to consider joining your business or purchasing your products or other products for which you are an affiliate while reading your ebook.
4. Stay in touch with people who download your ebook.
This is why it is a good idea to require people to subscribe to your email list in order to get your ebook. You can also include a strong call to action on a page in your ebook inviting people to contact you.
5. Offer an insane amount of value in your ebook.
More people will convert to leads if the value in your ebook is very high than if it is just a bunch of old rehashed information that everyone already knows about or if it is boring or useless.
6. Promote it everywhere you can.
Instead of just promoting your ebook on your website or blog, also give it away via facebook and twitter, put a link to obtain it in your email signature file, and offer it anywhere else online and offline that you can.
7. Give people many ways they can share it with others and encourage them to do so.
Some ways to do this include encouraging sharing by inviting people to do so on a page inside the ebook, giving people a free bonus in exchange for sharing your ebook with three or more people, and asking people to retweet your ebook link when sharing on twitter.
8. Offer portions of your ebook in an ecourse series.
Consider chopping up your ebook into chapters and giving people the option of reading a part of it at a time over the course of several days. This makes it easier for people to digest.
9. Promote your ebook with video.
This can be a great way to get more subscribers. Share portions of what is in the ebook as well as an introduction to your ebook with video.
10. Offer free updates periodically.
This can encourage people to reconnect with you and to recontact you, it can also increase rapport since it is rare for people to offer free updates to anything and especially something that was free to begin with.
